Privacy
splitter is an MVP / beta bill-splitting app. This page explains what we store and who can see it.
What we collect
- An anonymous account id created automatically when you open the app (no email or password required for the MVP).
- Optional display name on your profile.
- Contacts you add: name, and optionally phone or email you type in.
- Bills you create: titles, amounts, participants, who paid, and item lines when you use custom split or legacy items bills.
- Guest names (and optional phone) when someone joins a shared bill link in their browser.
Who can see your data
- Bill details and contacts in your book are visible to you as the owner (secured with row-level policies).
- People with a bill link (
/r/…) can see that bill's shared content. - A balance link (
/c/…) shows only that contact's net balance — not your full contact list. - A profile connect link (
/u/…) shows your display name so someone can link settlements with you.
